BECOME PV 2025: From Demonstration to Market Creation
The second edition of the BECOME PV Workshop on the Future of Emerging Photovoltaics took place on 2–3 December 2025 in Brussels, bringing together researchers, industry representatives, SMEs, and policymakers from across the European photovoltaic sector. With more than 60 participants, the workshop provided a focused forum for exchange on key topics shaping the future of photovoltaics, including perovskite chemistry, tandem scaling, manufacturing upscaling, and policy levers across the PV value chain.
The PERSEUS project was represented by its coordinator, VTT, with Thomas Kraft chairing the panel discussion “How can we move from demonstration to market creation?”. The discussion addressed challenges related to scaling emerging PV technologies, industrial uptake, and the transition from research and demonstration to market deployment.
VTT was also well represented by Riikka Suhonen, who contributed to the programme as a panelist and session chair on the first day of the workshop.
PERSEUS was showcased alongside its sister projects VALHALLA and PEARL – Flexible Perovskite Solar Cells with Carbon Electrodes, reflecting strong alignment between European initiatives working on next-generation photovoltaic solutions.
Organised by the EERA Joint Programme Photovoltaic Solar Energy (EERA JP PV), BECOME PV 2025 also offered valuable opportunities for networking and exchange within the European PV community, supporting dialogue on the future of emerging photovoltaic technologies.
