Introducing a new partner in the PERSEUS consortium – Perolink

The PERSEUS consortium welcomes a new partner! As of 1 September 2026, Perolink, a deep-tech startup based in Cologne, Germany, has joined the project, bringing expertise in sustainable perovskite precursor synthesis and green solvent technologies.

Perolink specialises in developing and producing high-purity perovskite precursor chemicals through sustainable synthesis routes. Its expertise includes a patented production process for precursor materials such as formamidinium iodide (FAI) and lead iodide (PbI₂), alongside the development of green solvent systems, including protic ionic liquids (PILs), as alternatives to conventional solvents used in perovskite ink formulations.

Within PERSEUS, Perolink joins the materials supply segment of the project's value chain, focusing on developing high-purity, low-cost perovskite precursors derived from recycled lead-acid battery waste. By combining sustainable precursor synthesis with alternative solvent systems, the company aims to reduce the environmental footprint of perovskite inks while maintaining the performance required for photovoltaic applications.

A key part of Perolink's contribution will be ensuring that its materials are compatible with large-area coating and printing processes used by other project partners. This will help connect sustainable materials development with the practical requirements of industrial-scale perovskite solar cell manufacturing.

As a Tier 1 material supplier, Perolink will also support the project's exploitation strategy and contribute to establishing a sustainable European supply chain for perovskite photovoltaic materials.
