PERSEUS at the EU PVSEC Parallel Event
As part of EU PVSEC 2026 in Rotterdam, PERSEUS will contribute to the Parallel Event “Opportunities for Sustainable Perovskite PV Commercialisation”, taking place on 15 September 2026 from 13:30 to 15:00.
Co-organised by nine projects – PERSEUS, PEPPERONI, LAPERITIVO, Circular-PV, LUMINOSITY, SMARTLINE-PV, PEARL, TRANSMIT and EMPOWER#IoT – the session will bring together researchers, industry representatives and policymakers to discuss the broader conditions needed for the large-scale and sustainable deployment of perovskite PV in Europe.
The discussion will cover several interconnected topics, including:
Technology upscaling and pilot lines
Manufacturing constraints and resource needs
Sustainable and circular value chains
Recycling and material availability
Life Cycle Assessment, economic and social perspectives
The policy and regulatory framework required for commercialisation.
PERSEUS speakers and contributors
Thomas Kraft (VTT), Coordinator of PERSEUS, will open the event with “Landscape of perovskite PV developments in Europe”. He will also chair the EU project presentations and co-moderate the concluding panel discussion “Can perovskite PV meet EU sustainability and market requirements?”
João Gaspar (EDP) will bring the end-user perspective with the plenary talk “Scaling PV Technology: Sustainability, Reliability, Safety and O&M implications”, highlighting practical considerations linked to the deployment of emerging PV technologies.
Ilker Dogan (TNO), also a member of the PERSEUS consortium, will contribute to the session on digitalisation and manufacturing optimisation on behalf of LUMINOSITY and will also co-moderate the concluding panel discussion.
The event will also feature contributions from experts across the participating projects on industrialisation, circularity, recycling, digitalisation, supply chains and sustainability, before concluding with a joint panel discussion focused on the market readiness of perovskite PV in Europe.
