PERSEUS Showcased in EDP’s Webinar on the Future of Solar
On 24 June 2025, the PERSEUS project was featured in EDP’s monthly R&D Session titled The Future of Solar: Beyond Conventional PV. This online event brought together experts to explore the cutting edge of solar technology and discuss the pressing challenges and solutions shaping the renewable energy transition.
Representing PERSEUS, Thomas Kraft (VTT) delivered a presentation titled “Printing Perovskite PV – PERSEUS project,” offering insight into the project’s approach to scalable, printable perovskite solar cells. His talk also introduced VTT’s work with perovskite PV and an outdoor testing setup in sub-Arctic conditions, demonstrating how printed perovskite solar cells are being evaluated for durability and performance in extreme temperatures and varying daylight conditions.
The event also featured Peter Henatsch from Fraunhofer CSP, who introduced a proactive approach to the recovery and recycling of PV modules, and Diogo Cordeiro from EDP, who presented a global study on AgriVoltaics in Portugal, highlighting the potential for hybridisation and biodiversity challenges. The session concluded with a Q&A discussion that brought together insights across research, practice, and future applications.
This webinar is part of the R&D Sessions initiative organised by EDP, which consists of monthly online events focused on the pressing challenges of the energy sector. These sessions bring together researchers, innovators, and industry experts to showcase how Research & Development are paving the way for a greener, more sustainable energy future.
