PERSEUS at EU PVSEC 2026: Highlights from Rotterdam
From 14–18 September, The European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) 2026 brought the international photovoltaic community together in Rotterdam, and PERSEUS was right at the centre of the exchange.
From bringing seven European projects together at the PEROVSKITE NETWORK booth to presenting the first PERSEUS demonstrator, contributing to the scientific programme and discussing the path towards sustainable commercialisation, the event offered plenty of opportunities to connect, exchange knowledge and showcase progress.
PEROVSKITE NETWORK at Booth A8
For three days, visitors could find PERSEUS at Booth A8, where we led the organisation of the joint PEROVSKITE NETWORK stand together with LAPERITIVO, LUMINOSITY, PEARL, READY-PV, SMARTLINE-PV and TRANSPIRE. The seven projects brought different areas of perovskite PV research under one roof, creating a shared space to exchange knowledge, meet the teams and explore developments across scalable, sustainable and next-generation photovoltaics.
Over the three exhibition days, around 100 visitors stopped by the booth to learn more about the participating projects and their work.
A major highlight was the presentation of the first PERSEUS demonstrator – a perovskite semi-fabricate showcased by project partner TNO. The physical demonstrator gave visitors an opportunity to see tangible progress from the project alongside the research and technologies presented across the Network.
On 15 September, we were also pleased to welcome Maider Machado, PERSEUS Project Officer from CINEA, to Booth A8. The visit offered an opportunity to present the demonstrator and share the latest developments from the project directly at the exhibition.
The Parallel Event
The same day, PERSEUS contributed to the Parallel Event “Opportunities for Sustainable Perovskite PV Commercialisation”, which attracted around 60 participants.
The event focused on the conditions needed to support the large-scale and sustainable deployment of perovskite PV in Europe. Thomas Kraft from VTT, PERSEUS Coordinator, opened the event with an overview of the European perovskite PV landscape. João Gaspar from project partner EDP followed with an end-user perspective on scaling PV technologies.
A range of speakers from the participating projects then brought in perspectives on industrialisation, circularity, digitalisation and sustainable supply chains, before the event concluded with a panel discussion on the requirements for future perovskite PV commercialisation.
PERSEUS partner TNO in the scientific programme
PERSEUS partner TNO was also represented in the EU PVSEC scientific programme.
On 15 September, Giulia Lucarelli delivered the oral presentation “Up-Scaling of Perovskite Solar Cells via Slot-Die Coating with Green Solvents: Towards Semi-Transparent n-i-p Modules” during the session Towards Industrial Processing of Perovskite Devices.
The contribution addressed scalable processing of perovskite solar cells using slot-die coating and green solvents, connecting with the broader challenge of moving perovskite photovoltaics towards larger-area and industrially relevant manufacturing.
EU PVSEC 2026 provided plenty of opportunities to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new members of the PV community and exchange ideas about where perovskite photovoltaics are heading next.
