Introducing a new partner in the PERSEUS consortium – Epishine

Epishine is a Swedish energy technology company founded in 2016, with headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Linköping, Sweden. The company specialises in printed organic photovoltaics (OPV), a technology that converts ambient light into electrical power through light energy harvesting. By combining advanced materials development with scalable roll-to-roll manufacturing, Epishine delivers lightweight and flexible photovoltaic solutions tailored specifically for low-light environments.

Unlike conventional silicon-based solar cells, Epishine’s OPV technology is designed to perform efficiently under indoor and low-intensity lighting conditions. Through a proprietary lamination and encapsulation process enabling reliable high-volume production, the company aims to replace single-use batteries with circular, light-powered alternatives for low-power electronics.

Within the PERSEUS project, Epishine contributes its expertise in scalable manufacturing and focuses on integrating project results into functional modules, including encapsulation and electronic integration.

By ensuring compatibility with industrial processes, Epishine helps bridge the gap between laboratory innovation and real-world application, supporting the development of scalable and commercially viable solutions.
